Summer introduces not only the heat, but pest and termites. Most chemicals to rid these critters are toxic for our environment. I have some remedies to help preserve what we inhale when fighting off bugs.
1.    Use red chili powder, paprika, cinnamon or dried peppermint at the point of entry. This will create a barrier and prevent the ants from spreading.
2.    For termites, fleas, cockroaches, and spiders you can mop your floor with a small portion of borax.
3.    For fleas, ticks, and flies spray garlic in your yard and on plants.
4.    For cockroaches or carpenter ants, sprinkle the area with diatomaceous earth (DE); a nontoxic powder that’s the hardened remains of marine phytoplankton.
5.    For mosquitoes, try a nontoxic spray that contains oil of lemon eucalyptus or make your own bug spray, using natural essential oils.
